Matt Maher

Chief Executive Officer

Matt Maher is a seasoned data scientist and lead ontologist with over 18 years of experience architecting advanced graph-based solutions across government and industry. As a principal graph modeler within the Processes portfolio, Matt specializes in semantic modeling, ontology engineering, AI/ML development, and predictive analytic delivering transformative insights for clients in defense, intelligence, education, energy, finance, and public safety.

Matt has led graph development initiatives for the Department of Defense, NASA, the Intelligence Community,  Insurance and Banking Companies, among others. His work includes integrating knowledge graphs with large language models (LLMs) to enable dynamic querying and cross-domain intelligence, designing predictive engines that map risk across hundreds of data sources, and deploying neural networks that reduce analytic cycle times from weeks to minutes.

A former Army officer that spend most of his career supporting Army Special Operations, Matt applied data science to mission planning and outcome analysis, bridging tactical objectives with strategic insights. He has implemented robust data governance frameworks, built scalable ETL pipelines using tools like Apache NiFi and Python, and trained teams in graph analytics and semantic integration to accelerate knowledge transfer.

Matt’s expertise spans RDF/OWL and LPG graph models, enabling him to unify fragmented data ecosystems and support high-impact decision-making. Whether modeling human experience for NASA or optimizing risk allocation for federal agencies, Matt brings precision, clarity, and innovation to every challenge.

Rob Orlando

Chief Operating Officer

Rob brings more than a decade of experience helping complex systems work the way people do. His background spans data science, systems engineering, and network operations for Army tactical networks, fields where clarity and adaptability are essential.

Throughout his career, Rob has focused on connecting information, technology, and people to make better decisions faster. He’s led teams developing system architectures, improving collaboration between cyber and network operations, and introducing knowledge graphs as a way to turn data into shared understanding.

In addition to his engineering work, Rob founded and runs Aspiring Phoenix Montessori+, a specialized Acton Academy focused on self-directed learning and real-world skill development. He has coached youth for more than 25 years, emphasizing leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. The same principles that guide his educational work (clarity, autonomy, and continuous improvement) also shape how he builds systems that help organizations learn and evolve.

At Processus Group, Rob applies this philosophy to every project, combining human development and systems thinking to create technology that grows with the people it serves.

At Processus Group Inc., a disabled veteran–owned small business of former military and government professionals, we transform knowledge into operational clarity. We build graph-structured foundations that enable teams to learn faster, adapt faster, and decide with confidence. Our work sits at the intersection of graph databases, LLM integration, and real-world decision-making. Whether we’re supporting national security missions, educational transformation, or financial forecasting, we bring structure to complexity, so leaders can do more with less.

Our team brings together expertise from defense systems, education analytics, and financial modeling, giving us a unique ability to bridge operational realities with advanced technologies. We’ve worked across AWS, Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, and specialize in knowledge graph design with Protégé, Neo4j, and Stardog, making us both cloud-agnostic and technology fluent.

We believe that intelligence isn’t about replacing people. It’s about amplifying human potential through connected knowledge.
